Move [day 1]
[Seeing God Move]
We want to see you move We want to see your power Do what only you can do We're desperate for you We want to see you move We want to see your power Do what only you can do God, would you move?
When was the first time you saw God move in your life? You may think of the time you came to know Him and entered into a relationship with Him.
When was the last time you saw God move in your life? Oftentimes, our minds tell us that seeing a move of God is difficult or even impossible. It may seem that you're continuously waiting on Him to work, only to see nothing happen. However, I am convinced of this, seeing God move in your life begins with worship. To worship God is to set our mind on Him and to live a life in response to who He is and what He has done. When we worship God, our eyes are opened, our mindset is shifted, and our heart is transformed. We gain a new perspective. When we spend our days worshiping God we begin to see how He is always moving.
God moves in many ways. God may choose to move in a very subtle way through the small things of life. It may be a simple provision or a small blessing. When God works in the small things, it can oftentimes be missed because we're solely looking for the big things. You could be waiting for the answer to a big prayer and miss the beautiful sunset God created.
Even though it could be a small moment that God moves in, it doesn't mean it is not a move of God! The simple and small moves can and will have huge implications on your life. We must be mindful and thankful of these subtle moves of God.
God also moves in big ways. He may make a reality out of what seemed impossible. He may have provided in a way that you never imagined. Our God is a God of the impossible. There is nothing too difficult for Him. Ask and be expectant for God to move in big ways! He delights in us asking for big things and we must remember that He is fully capable.
The song “Move” is about witnessing and seeking these big and little moves of God in our lives. It's a song of prayer and expectation. We want to see God's power and His will unfold. We want to seek His moving and cultivate a life of desperation for Him.
Commit your ways to Him, seek after Him, and live expectant of what He is doing. Know that God can and will move in your life. We can miss Him working if we are not seeking Him continually. If you want to see God move in your life, begin with worship.
Scripture Reading:
Psalm 37:5-6 5 Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him, and he will act. 6 He will bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday.
Psalm 63:1-4 1 O God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you; my flesh faints for you, as in a dry and weary land where there is no water. 2 So I have looked upon you in the sanctuary, beholding your power and glory. 3 Because your steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise you. 4 So I will bless you as long as I live; in your name I will lift up my hands.
Ephesians 3:20-21 20 Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in ChristJesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
